Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Review | Upgrade to the Pro?
Reviewing Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 13 5G budget smartphone, costing under £300 in the UK. This well-specced phone lacks some of the polish of the Pro version, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G still boasts a 108MP camera, HyperOS shenanigans, a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen and 5000mAh battery. But how’s the gaming experience, is that camera any good, and does the battery life suck? I’ve been testing it as my full time phone for a week now so here’s the review!
My take-away verdict is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G makes quite a few compromises to reach that sub-£300 budget price. For one, gamers will be disappointed if trying to play anything more complex than PubG. Genshin Impact is very much a no-no!
Battery life has been hit and miss too. For now, I’m just about getting a full day of play from the Redmi Note 13 5G, but camera play drains it fast. Likewise, I miss the super-fast charging of Xiaomi’s Pro and Pro Plus models. And HyperOS can be a bit janky at times, especially when using gesture navigation!
Still, the AMOLED display is a stunner for this price point and this is the only Note 13 phone to offer expandable storage and a headphone jack in the UK. But I would say, if possible, upgrade to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G instead!
